What kind of classes are you teaching?

The Carriage House will feature 3 distinct types of classes: Restaurant Chefs of Tucson; Spirited Sessions; and City of Gastronomy Classes.

Restaurant Chefs of Tucson series classes will be entertaining sessions with your favorite local “celebrity” chefs. These will cover consumer-level basic techniques and signature dishes of the chefs.

Spirited Sessions classes, sponsored by the Tucson chapter of the United States Bartenders Guild, will cover the spirit spectrum from food and beverage pairings, to wine tastings and cocktail mixology, home brewing and more.

City of Gastronomy series classes will feature culinary masters who help preserve the spirit and flavors of Tucson and Southern Arizona. They are the keepers of age-old traditions, the new generation of wine makers, brewers, distillers and those who have perfected the rich blend of cuisines that have put Tucson on the map as a distinctive culinary destination.

Can I attend an individual class, or do I have to go for a whole series?
Each class will be a singular, spectacular event – so while we’d love to see you there again and again, none of the classes will have prerequisites.

What do I need to bring?

Our classes are demonstration classes, as opposed to hands-on, so you need not worry about brining your knives and aprons. All you need to bring is your desire to have fun and learn, and your appetite for delicious samples following the demonstration.

Will there be time to ask questions?

That’s what makes these classes so great: you! We love to have you engaged with what we’re doing, asking questions throughout the class. That’s half the fun.

Where can I park?

Because our class times are Tuesday evenings and Saturday daytime, all of the metered parking around downtown and Armory Park is free (meters not enforced evenings and weekends). Detailed parking information and maps can be found at: https://www.tucsonaz.gov/park-tucson

We’re also right next to SunLink and Suntran stops if you opt for public transportation.

How many dishes will be prepared?

As the chef instructors and menus will vary from week-to-week, the number of dishes won’t remain exactly the same, but you should expect around 3-5 recipes at each chef session.

Is there an age requirement?
Our Spirited Sessions classes will require that all guests be of legal drinking age. Our other class series are open to all ages, and we love to see budding young culinarians in attendance.
